Basic Internet Marketing Myths Unveiled
If there’s one single profession that every web entrepreneur would vouch for, it has to be Internet marketing. It’s simply the best way to make lots of money and at the same time build a long term business. However, in order to be successful with selling products online, you have to acknowledge these myths that can possible damage your whole perception of internet marketing.
So many new and naive marketers have a closely-held idea that once they find something great to sell and have a cool-looking site, there’s not much left to do but stare at the influx of eager buyers. Nothing could possibly be more removed from the truth of the matter. The reality is that in order to make any goodly amount of product sales, you’ll have to let the world know that your product exists. Ah… ok, so now what you do is find the right kind of traffic, we mean targeted, and then funnel it to your site. Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you’re not some multinational corporation where all you do is make a press release and millions of people are flocking to you. There are too many traffic methods to go into them here, but you can optimize your site for search traffic, do PPC advertising, or even article marketing. We hope to have put that little piece of wrong thinking to bed for you. The number two internet marketing myth that should be shot down is that purchasing cheap traffic will make you successful. Unfortunately, this doesn’t happen for new internet marketers. The thing with traffic is, in order to convert it, it needs to be highly targeted and of good quality. All of those services that say they can give you tons of traffic for $10 don’t know anything about providing you the right traffic. They only want your money. Although you may get thousands of visitors, this traffic is not valuable because they aren’t producing any sales. It’s better to pay $10 and get 100 targeted visitors rather than aim for thousands that will not convert.
One huge myth or thought is that there is no need to have at least competently written sales copy to produce good sales figures. It’s just so much of a fact that it’s not remotely humorous; you need to have decently written copy, at the bare minimum, to have any kind of a decent conversion rate. If you lack the basics of copywriting, then your time will be better spent hiring a writer you can afford. It’s all about money and quality, so you need to find someone affordable and competent, and ask for writing samples, etc. Of course you can always learn some copywriting fundamentals, learn from professionally written sales letters, and then hit it.
In conclusion, the myths that we talked about in this article can certainly be ignored, but you’ll have to keep your eyes open for more of them if you want to succeed.
