Selling Online with Videos

In our previous article on developing a video presentation we focused on the subject of creating a professional-looking, multi-dimensional video for use on the internet. Assuming that you have gotten past that point and you are now in possession of at least one such video the next question clearly becomes – How do I use it effectively to maximize my internet selling activities? Actually, this is not as complex as it might seem. There are many subtopics but we will cover the basics.

We first need to focus on how video pages are inserted and uploaded to your site. Each of your videos is a separate file and must be loaded individually up to your site. This may be a manual process or it may be automated by the web authoring package that you are using. For instance, Coffee Cup Visual Site Designer, one of the best minimalist web authoring packages, has a built-in function that allows you to connect to your webhosting site and auto-upload the pages that you have just created or altered. They are also typically automated in that they support easy insertion, replacement and webpage navigation. All serious and committed internet marketers have accepted that they need as good an authoring package as their budget will allow.

Most online shoppers are used to seeing videos on websites. Your job is to use them to maximize your sales. Most video usage on websites falls into two category – dominant and supportive. Supportive videos on websites are typically there to dramatize, emphasize, or to provide detailed instruction, definition or usage of a product or service. They are typically place in the middle of a long selling, target or landing page with both graphics and text surrounding them. They are also used to provide a personal touch with the owner or provider often visible in the video.

In a dominant-use scenario, the video stands alone and does the majority of pre-selling that precedes navigation to the actual landing or selling page. All future website selling is rapidly moving in this direction.

Our recommendation is that you transition your whole site and operation in this direction – with self-load Flash Video files that support user interaction – i.e. the User clicks the video frame (its ‘skin’)to make something happen. Flash video files are not possessive of better graphics or clarity – they simply load much faster – something you should care a great deal about. This produces a web experience for the user that starts selling – without any interaction – as soon as the page loads.

Always finish any video file work by updating your windows registry.   You can purchase and download a top registry software package that does this.  They also perform the other registry fix functions that accomplish any needed Registry Repair.
